The pitch for my music video
The feedback for my pitch
The feedback for my pitch
The feedback I received about my initial ideas for my music video was mostly positive, with the feedback saying that the video will really work well with the style of music.
Casting Challenge:
I agreed with the feedback about my casting challenge, as the song puts a picture in your head about what the artist will look like: 25- 30, rustic looking, with stubble. This will be a challenge to find an actor who fits the mental image you receive from the song, because I feel that the grain of voice for the song fits a particular look. I do not know a lot of males in this age gap who would actually have the time to be part of the video. To over come this challenge I may hold auditions or ask around to find if anyone knows of someone who would fit the part.
i felt that the grain of voice fits particular images of the video.
Audience:
The group suggested that the audience for the song, instead of women between 30-60, should be males between 25-40. This is because the artist is male and the song is about a guy splitting up from his girlfriend and it is from a guys perspective. I will take this feedback on board and aim the song more towards what the feedback has suggested.
Location:
The last piece of feedback suggested that the location of the video may be quite hard to get right, as the style is very country and American. They suggested that I should make the video more contemporary and use the location that are more easily available to me. They suggested that should use more of a city location, but still have the relaxed, country style that fits the song. Do this I may film in a city location that still has few people around, so you still get a relaxed fell from the song. To help me a research this idea they suggested that I look at artists like Laura Marling. I have been looking at different music videos to help me get an idea of how to make this idea work and Skylar Grey's Invisible gave me some good idea about how to use a city location and still show how alone the artist/actor is feeling.
